People are sharing the wildest, funniest, and just plain weirdest interactions they've ever had with celebrities — and I'm obsessed with reading all of their stories, TBH. It all started when a viral Reddit thread asked users: "Who's the most famous person you've interacted with?" Here are some of the top-voted responses. 1. "I had a coffee with Tom Hardy once before he got really famous. It was back in the very early 2000s when he was still a struggling actor in London. Seriously nice dude." 2. "George Clooney. Chill, friendly guy, but the most jarring thing was that the tan was 100% fake." 3. "Michael Bublé was my youth rock-climbing coach/instructor." 4. "I was walking down the street in NYC holding my friend’s baby, and we walked by Willem Dafoe. He stopped right in front of me and said, 'Hi baby,' to the baby, in a nice but kinda creepy way. But maybe just creepy coming from him." 5. "I live in LA. I joined this group to be a seat filler on awards shows. Was able to go to the Hollywood Film Awards. At my table were Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, and Renée Zellweger. And they got DRUNK. It was amazing. They were all very sweet. Fillers are not allowed to eat the food or drink when it’s served for some odd reason. Drunk Renée told me to eat and have some champagne. I explained to her that I couldn't. She wasn’t having it, so I said f*ck it. Five minutes later I get a tap saying I have to leave the venue because I was eating. Renée stood up for me and told the person I could stay and that we were having a good time. So shoutout to her." 6. "I work at a luxury skincare store. Met lots of celebs, but my favorite was Jake Gyllenhaal. He was holding an empty cup of ice cream from a local place. I got ballsy and asked him which flavor he got. He said cookies and cream, to which I replied, 'Solid choice.' He then looked deep into my soul with his beautiful eyes and said, 'I don't f*ck around.' Praising myself to this day for keeping it professional." 7. "Prince! He was at a professional salsa contest in the early 2000s. I ran up to him after, in my heels. I stopped in front of him, two huge bodyguards on each side, but I froze. He looked at me and said, 'You're adorable." They kept walking. Lol!" 8. "My dad got rammed by Dolly Parton. I was 13 or 14, going through Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, with Dad. We are at a stoplight, I'm on my DS, and I get jolted forward hard enough to drop sh*t. I look back, and I see a limo has made a parking space out of my dad's bumper. And out from the back pops Dolly Parton. She checks on her driver and then comes to check on us. She cut my dad a check. She took us to some of her properties and gave us a personal tour. I remember her being super sweet and genuine." 9. "Nick Offerman. It was my bachelor party, and we happened to be eating at the same bratwurst restaurant. As he was leaving, we asked if he was open to taking some pictures. I asked him if he had any marriage advice. And this is what he said: 1) You're doing the right thing. 2) She is always right. 3) EAT LOTS OF SAUSAGES." 10. "I met Elton John on a plane. People don’t believe me, because why would Sir Elton be flying commercial? He bought every ticket in first class, and when I walked by I did a double take, and he gave me a smile and a nod." 11. "Keanu Reeves stayed at my mom's bed and breakfast for a weekend in the mid-'90s. He was traveling with his band before shooting Speed. He was awesome. We showed him around town and played video games together." 12. "I saw Helena Bonham Carter walking across Tower Bridge at rush hour. No one noticed her but me (it seemed), and she shot me a look like, 'Please don't make a scene.' I didn't." 13. "My uncle met Morgan Freeman in an airport once. Apparently he said, 'Hey, ain'tchu that fella in the movies?' and they talked for about an hour." 14. "Ed Sheeran. I was 9 or 10, and I got lost at a festival and ended up backstage. He helped me find my family. Very nice man." 15. "Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters/Nirvana. Met a friend at a pub one early evening, Dave was sitting at the bar. So my buddy and I watched Judge Judy and other random sh*t at the bar with Dave for a few hours. He knew that we knew who he was, but we didn't ask questions or freak." 16. "Jimmy Fallon. He was honestly super chill and down to earth. Coincidently sat next to him at an event and chatted with him for two or three hours. He was super chill with fans who walked up to take pictures, and I don't have a bad thing to say about him after that experience, despite all the hate he gets." 17. "I helped Tori Spelling off the ground and into a chair when she went into labor where I work. Incredibly nice, as was the rest of her family." 18. "I met Kanye at the Montreal airport back in the days, just after his College Dropout album. ... I came up and said hey, and he was very cool about it. We spoke about music mostly; he asked what I was listening to and what my favorite sports team was. He even made me listen to some of his favorite tracks. All in all, maybe a 15-minute convo." 19. "I smoked a cigarette with Robert Pattinson during the Twilight craze. My uncle was producing a movie he was in, and I went to visit him on set. I was only 18 and would be lying if I said I hadn’t read the books and watched the movies un-ironically. My crush aside, it’s true what they say about movie stars: They are unbelievably attractive in real life. He talked about how he went to an all-boys boarding school and could never get used to all the attention. I like to think I played it cool. I didn’t mention I was a fan and didn’t ask for a picture." 20. "Beyoncé! Shared an elevator in a hotel in NYC. She was very tall (wearing heels obviously, but I’m 5'6"). I told her she was beautiful in person." 21. "I told Jack Black to camp somewhere else when he tried to take over part of my spot in Joshua Tree. His camping party (~20 adults and kids) pulled up en masse just as the acid hit, and the three spots someone had been illegally holding for them weren't enough to contain all of their shrieking offspring. He seemed pretty irritated. So were we." And finally... 22. "My wife’s aunt used to own a store in a small town where movies were often filmed. One day a man and woman came in and approached the counter. The woman wanted some specific item, but the aunt wasn’t sure if they carried it. After a few questions, the man said he was going to look around the shop. Once he was out of earshot, the aunt said, 'Your husband looks exactly like Harrison Ford!' The woman said, 'Yes, that’s because he is Harrison Ford.'" You can read the full thread of responses on Reddit. References
