With Apex Legends shaking up things for season 22, Shockwave, the Legends are stronger than ever. Every Legend has the potential to define the Meta but there are a few standouts who we have pointed out in this list.
The Legends will be ranked in this tier list according to their viability in the game and by how fun they are. These Legends will give you a competitive advantage in each encounter. Their abilities shine in these, giving them the edge required to win. Most of the characters ranked at the top are also used in the highest competitive format of Apex, the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS). Others have gotten huge buffs which make them extremely good in the current meta.

While every Legend is good, we will be covering the S and A tiers today. No legends are bad which is why most of the Legends are in the B tier. The Legends in the S and A are the best in the game.
The A Tier
The A Tier features some of the best legends that define the current meta in the game. It highlights how important movement, recon, and defense are meta-defining.
Lifeline – Combat Medic

Lifeline is the only support Legend who is in the top tiers and boy did she have to work her way up here. Lifeline had fallen off from the top for a long time now with the introduction of many new legends and getting hit by multiple nerfs. However, starting Season 20 Lifeline starting to get good due to the new buffs she received combined with the new perk system. It’s season 22 and she’s still going strong. She is the only Legend who can revive two of her downed teammates while still in battle. Additionally, her health drone is essential on the new map, E-District, due to the rarity of supplies on the map.
The sparse resources also make her Care Package a massive help to her team providing essential heals and attachments.
Wattson – Static Defender

Wattson is the second defensive Legend introduced to the game and since then, she has been the queen of tower defense. Wattson’s kit has one of the best tacticals in the game, the Perimeter Security better known as electric fences. These fences can be deployed in quick succession allowing her to lock up a building in mere seconds. The fences also provide intel when someone crosses it and takes damage. Season 22 buffed all Control characters who put down their tacticals. If a Wattson leaves an area that already has all her fences down, she will get a prompt that will allow her to pick up all of them remotely once she leaves the area. This allows Wattson to quickly capture and re-capture different areas on the map. Control Legends also get an additional shield when they are inside the ring further increasing their use. This is especially useful for Wattson because it helps overcome her large hitbox.
Her Ultimate, the Interception Pylon provides one of the best defenses the game has to offer. It blocks any incoming projectiles including some other Legends’ abilities. It also provides free armor heals for the team for a short period. That combined with her passive to instantly gain her ultimate with an ultimate accelerant, and constant shield regen makes a force to be dealt with.
Rampart – Amped Modder

Rampart has been getting small buffs ever since she was introduced. She has finally made her way to the top. She not only received all the buffs the controller class got, the remote pick-up up, and additional health inside the ring, but she received a buff to her Ultimate as well. Shiela now recharges bullets over time allowing her to use the Minigun almost at any time during the game. She also received a hidden buff to her passive. Season 22 gave all the Light Machine Guns (LMGs) a gun shield attachment and a hip fire spread that gets tighter the more you shoot. Rampart’s passive gives all LMGs more ammo making her an absolute unit with the guns.
Seer – Ambush Artist

Seer was the least-picked Legend for a long time. He was nerfed into oblivion after he was released because of how broken he was. While Respawn has not given back his full power, they have given him just enough to make his kit extremely useful in the game. His Ultimate Exhibit has a larger radius now which allows him to easily track opponents in a wider region. His Passive also received a buff. He can move faster now while he is looking for heartbeats. He moves slower than an unholstered sprint but moves at the same speed as sprinting with a weapon.
Crypto – Surveillance Expert

Crypto has consistently been a mid-tier Legend for the longest time. No one thought he would ever be a viable option as a high-tier Legend until this season. Crypto got a new perk added which allows him to go invisible when he is using his drone. This completely changes the game for him as he can safely use his drone without getting blasted off the map because he left himself susceptible to attack. Furthermore, Crypto can easily rat out different spots in a map making it nearly impossible to find him.
The S Tier
These Legends are a must-pick for any high-level play. They are frequented by players at the highest ranks of the game.
Bloodhound – Technological Tracker

Bloodhound is the best recon Legend in the game currently. They provide the player with the most knowledge on the playing field and as an old saying once said, “Knowledge is Power”. Bloodhound’s passive immediately gives the player knowledge about the presence of enemies in an area. The tactical then provides a full scan of the area in front, above, and below Bloodhound. This provides intel of not just where the enemies are, it also tells the player and their teammates about any traps placed by an enemy. Furthermore, Bloodhound can use white ravens around the map to point them toward the nearest enemy; ‘s position.
The passive and tactical once used in harmony, will always give Bloodhound the upper hand in fights. Finally, their Ultimate, Beast of the Hunt provides a speed boost to Bloodhound as well as highlighting the enemies in red for 30 seconds. Enemies can also be seen through smokes while the Ultimate is activated. The Ultimate also sends a tracking white raven paving the path for Bloodhound to easily track and take down their enemies.
Pathfinder – Forward Scout

The friendly robot has been a mainstay on high-level Apex for years. He is the King of movement in Apex Legends because of his grappling gun. It provides Pathfinder with both horizontal and vertical mobility in every direction. It also makes him the fastest legend in the game. He can cover massive distances in a short time. Adding to that, his Zipline Gun provides quick mobility for his entire team from point A to point B on the map.
Pathfinder is more useful now than ever. With the current map rotation, his ability to easily gain the higher ground will come in handy in E-District because the map is littered with many buildings all around. His Zipline also boosts teammates now making it easy for them to change rooftops very easily and quickly.
Horizon – Gravitational Manipulator

- Ultimate: Black Hole
Horizon has comfortably been sitting at the top of the list ever since her introduction. She is the Queen of movement in Apex and has the best movement abilities available in the game. Her passive ensures she never gets reduced speed from a fall. This is what makes her gravity lift super viable. When she uses the ability, she is immediately sent upwards. When she gets off of it, she gets a speed direction in whichever way she wants to land. The tactical can also be used by her teammates which makes her super useful to the team as well.
Her entire kit is useful on the new map for the same reason as Pathfinder. She gets to get her whole team on top of buildings using her tactical ability. She can also easily get down from the sky scrapers whenever the situation gets too messy. The Black Hole she carries on her back is amazing for getting an area of enemies in one place and gunning them down easily.
Revenant – Synthetic Nightmare

Revenant did not receive any changes to his kit this season. This allows Revenant to remain one of the best movement Legends in the game right now. His passive allows him to scale walls at a fast rate. That, combined with his Shadow Pounce allows him to leap and cover a massive horizontal distance forward. This enables him to quickly engage and escape from a fight. Added to his passive, he can now claim the high ground easily and directly giving him the advantage.
His Ultimate provides an additional 50 damage armor on top of his current armor. This makes it easy to push teams with low risk as in most cases, Revenant with his ultimate will always have more health than his opponent.
Revenant’s Ultimate is already a pain to deal with. Once he stacks the LMG shield on top of his Ultimate while using a red shield, he gains a health bar on 340. The highest amount of damage any character can absorb in the game. This gives Revenant a ridiculous upper hand making him our number 1 pick.
